Asia Lamp Industry Co., Ltd.
Founded in 1974 by Sanrasern Chanyongpand, together with a joint venture with GTE Sylvania from the U.S.A., Asia Lamp is one of the leading fluorescent lamp manufacturers in Thailand, with a fully paid registered capital of 70,000,000 baht.
Having exported its products worldwide since its establishment, Asia Lamp was granted promotional privileges under the Investment Promotion Act B.E. 2520 by the Board of Investment of Thailand in the same year as its commencement.
In 1980, Asia Lamp separated from GTE Sylvania, and two years later formed a technology cooperation with CE, Taiwan, starting the production of T9 and 10W T8 lamps. Asia Lamp also received technology assistance from Crompton Lighting, UK, and was granted a license to produce and sell lamps under the Crompton brand worldwide.
In 1983, T10 lamp production was established, and in 1984 circline lamp production was initiated for the export market.
In 1986, Asia Lamp expanded the business and increased production capacity to meet market demand. In 1988 it produced U-type lamps for the U.S. market, and the following year added the production of 5-foot, 65-watt lamps to its product range.
In 1993, under an agreement and cooperation with EGAT (the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand), Asia Lamp began producing T8 lamps (18W and 36W) to promote the use of energy-saving lamps in the local market.
In 2006, T5 lamp production was established in response to customer requests and a growing energy-saving mindset; the first version of the T5 HE was launched from Asia Lamp's factory into the market.
In 2008, Asia Lamp expanded into other energy-saving lighting products such as compact fluorescent lamps, SLS luminaire sets, electronic ballasts and more. With environmental and global-warming awareness, Asia Lamp also launched low-mercury lamps compliant with RoHS and TCLP.
Asia Lamp not only produces products under its own brand names — “Silver Light” and “Alico” — but also manufactures under original equipment manufacturer (OEM) brands.
